Travelling between the Fairmont & the Westin:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Walking Path<\/strong> takes you from the Westin, past Parking Lot 1, south of the bike park, over the covered bridge, and through the Blackcomb Upper Village next to the Fairmont.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Fairmont Shuttle<\/strong> arrives every 15 minutes, taking people from the Fairmont to within a quick 2 minute walk of the Westin. See the maps above for the shuttle stop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Whistler Connection Shuttle<\/strong> arrives every 12 minutes, taking people from the Fairmont to the Westin. It will operate from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on Friday, and 8:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Francis Su<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Author \/ Mathematical Explorer<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Francis Su writes about the dignity of human beings and the wonder of mathematical teaching. His book Mathematics for Human Flourishing<\/em> (2020), winner of the 2021 Euler Book Prize, offers an inclusive vision of what math is, who it’s for, and why anyone should learn it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Howie Hua<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Math Instructor<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Howie Hua is a math instructor at Fresno State, teaching math to students who want to become elementary school teachers. He is always on the lookout for ways to humanize the math classroom. His teaching goal every semester is to show that everyone is a mathematician.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Cynthia Nicol<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

UBC Professor<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cynthia is a co-editor of multiple books including: Tluuwaay \u2018Waadluxan: Mathematical Adventures (co-edited with Joanne Yovanovich, 2011) a collaboration between teachers and community members, where Indigenous Elders\u2019 stories form the inspiration for mathematical adventures<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Christopher Danielson<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Author, Educator<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christopher Danielson has worked with math learners of all ages together with their parents and caregivers. He is Director of Math Play at the MathHappens Foundation, writes books for Stenhouse, and has deep curriculum roots at Desmos and Connected Mathematics.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Peter Liljedahl<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Author, Professor<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Liljedahl is a former high school mathematics teacher who has kept his research interest and activities close to the classroom. He consults regularly with schools, school districts, and ministries of education on issues of teaching and learning, assessment, and numeracy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

David is a middle school math teacher at Weston Middle School in Weston, MA. In his 20+ years at the school, David has held a variety of leadership roles. In 2017, he was a runner-up for the Rosenthal Prize for Innovation and Inspiration in Math Teaching.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Molly Daley<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Molly started the Math Anywhere! project to help children and their grown-ups experience the creative and playful side of mathematics. She believes math is expansive and she likes helping people recognize their own mathematical connection.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Julia Robinson Mathematics Festival<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Annette had the good fortune to complete her doctorate in mathematics education under Dr. Peter Liljedahl. Prior to that, she taught elementary school for ten years and had been a lead teacher in both technology and differentiated instruction.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dr. India White is a TEDx speaker, national educational consultant, author of 60+ books, and Author for Savvas. India is a three-time graduate of the University of Florida, majoring in math, educational leadership and educational leadership and administration. White has held positions as a math teacher, math coach, Assistant Principal, and a National Ed Consultant for Big Ideas Learning. India\u2019s mission is to find out how to use equitable practices while developing grit in students to bridge the achievement gap.
