BCAMT Fall Conference: Transformations

Guildford Park Secondary, Surrey

October 23, 2020

Conference Details

The BCAMT is proud to present our 2020 Fall Conference!

We have heard from many of you inquiring about our October conference plans. With health restrictions from Covid-19 continuing in the fall, and the implications it has on our school year, the BCAMT has begun looking at ways to ensure our conference continues.

Please know that BCAMT will be offering our professional development opportunities on the PSA day, October 23, 2020.

Check our conference website or join many teachers on the BCAMT listserv for updates.

Given the change in our curriculum and the evolution in teaching it fosters, we have chosen the theme "Transformations” for this year’s conference. Our goal for this conference is to support teachers with this ongoing journey by continuing the conversations about teaching, learning and assessing.

Keynote Speaker: Michael Pruner

Michael Pruner is a high school mathematics teacher at Windsor Secondary School in North Vancouver. He believes quite passionately that mathematics is an empowering subject for everyone that is best learned through active participation and collaboration, and he was an early adopter of Peter Liljedahl's Thinking Classrooms. Currently studying towards his PhD at Simon Fraser University in the field of mathematics education, Michael is looking forward to sharing some of his insights and personal stories around transformations in the mathematics classroom.

Please note: There is no reserved seating for workshops. All sessions fill on a first-come first-served basis.

The conference will be taking place at Guildford Park Secondary School, 10707 146 Street, Surrey, B.C., V3R 1T5
