The BC Association of Math Teachers (BCAMT) Fall Conference is an annual event held in British Columbia on the province-wide Professional Development Day in October. This year's theme is "Math is Social" and will be at Gladstone Secondary in Vancouver on October 21.

Fawn Nguyen teaches math at Mesa Union Junior High in southern California. She started out as a science teacher for 14 years and has been teaching math for the last 10 years. Fawn is part of the UC-Santa Barbara Mathematics Project leadership team that presents at workshops and retreats for math teachers, coaches, and administrators in the Tri-County area. She is a co-founder of the Thousand Oaks Math Teachers’ Circle. In an effort to share and learn from other math teachers, Fawn blogs at Finding Ways. She also started VisualPatterns.org to help students develop algebraic thinking.
Richard Hoshino teaches mathematics at Quest University Canada, an innovative liberal arts and sciences university located in Squamish. Prior to his arrival at Quest in 2013, Richard was a post-doctoral fellow at the National Institute of Informatics in Tokyo (2010-2012), and was a mathematician with the Government of Canada (2006-2010), leading the mathematics and data exploration section at the Canada Border Services Agency.
He has published 26 research papers across numerous fields, including graph theory, marine container risk-scoring, biometric identification, and sports scheduling. He has consulted for a billion-dollar professional baseball league, as well as three Canadian TV game shows (Qubit, Splatalot, Spin-Off), and has helped local businesses and non-profits optimize their scheduling. He is also the author of the novel "The Math Olympian".

Gladstone Secondary School is located at 4105 Gladstone Street in east Vancouver. It is a five minute walk from the Nanaimo Skytrain Station. Street parking is available on Sydney street and Gladstone street, and by the gravel field on 27th avenue.
